Your role
You’ll be in charge of the security, fiability, and performance of all the Braindate technological aspects (strategic, tactical, and operational), including development and infrastructure, more precisely:
- Deployment: With your QA team, reviewing/accepting/approving the code quality before every release, and be responsible for releasing every feature/improvement/bug fixes, and hotfixes, usually once per month (2 sprints)
- Infrastructure: Identify opportunities and weaknesses in the platform architecture, as well as implement infrastructure management best practices, to eventually sustain up to 1’000’000 daily users;
- Security: With our Security expert and external third parties, be responsible for all the security aspects within the company, including SOC2 compliance and certification;
- Accessibility: With our external advisors, guide the team in the implementation and maintenance of WCAG 2.1 standards;
- Data analytics: With our product leads, implement data analytics needed to track and improve the user/client experience on our platforms;
- API and Integration: With the integration team, develop, document, and maintain an open API that would serve as the link with different tech partners (including, not limited to, third-party event apps, HubSpot, Quickbooks, etc.) while making it accessible within our client interface (BOS: Braindate Organizer Space).
- Internal team support: Your team support the other internal teams (mostly the experience and sales team) with all the technical aspects of their jobs and questions, including requests from clients, bugs, and office requests (ex: office internet connection)
- Artificial intelligence: Lead our AI projects (with a third party) and the applications for grants;
- R&D: Be involved in documentation and procedures required to obtain our governmental grants and tax credits;
- Management tasks: Managing, supporting, and training the internal and external teams, setting objectives, following their performance, doing one-on-one weekly meetings, and all other team management aspects.
You will work in close collaboration with the CTO and you will need to replace him temporarily when needed (already planned: 12 weeks during his paternity leave).

- 2 x Integration Specialists;
- 2 x QA Analyst;
- 1 x Security Expert;
In the interim: Additional 2 teams:
- 2 x Product Owners;
- 2 x Product Designers;
- 8 x Devs (front end + back end), in 2 teams of 4 teammates each;

You should always have a mindset of automation, making our teams and clients autonomous in building the perfect Braindate Experience within the BOS (Braindate Organizer Space), centralizing, standardizing, optimizing, integrating, etc.

- Good communication skills (preferably bilingual: English and French)
- Good management skills (leading a team, setting goals and standards, training, …)
- Efficient use of Python or equivalent programming experience;
- Server infrastructure in the context of a fast-moving company;
- SOC2 implementation and other security compliance assessments;
- Accessibility WCAG 2.1 standards (supported by a third party);
- Experience with integrations and APIs;
- Knowledge of AI to be the first point of contact and lead AI projects (with third parties);
Some extra qualities that will set you apart:
Do you have these experiences & qualities? – You’re just the person we’re looking for!
- Experience (18 months and more) in an equivalent position;
- Experience as DevOps (or equivalent) and with Terraform (or similar) is a plus;
- Familiarity with a broad portfolio of AWS infrastructure tools (EBS, S3, EC2, Elastic IP, Route 53, VPC) and experience with cloud infrastructure management and automation technologies (Chef, Puppet);
- Possess a strong grasp of automation tools;
- Positive attitude with a strong interest in technological innovation;
- Interest and involvement in our core mission;
- Desire to participate in team code reviews and enforce quality standards
